GEHCF’s role was to support the Trust to deliver its long term strategy development by providing facilitation support and defined products to inform views at key stages of the process
The approach was built upon principles of the Burke-Litwin organisational development model to ensure alignment across the organisation with regard to the three transformational factors: mission and strategy, leadership and organisational culture. Facilitation support was provided for the Clinical Summit and the Trust Board Seminars, including drafting of purpose, objectives and outcomes.
Research into international best practice in healthcare delivery and investment models, future trends and Accountable Care Organisations was conducted to produce supporting reference material for the seminars. Case examples included The Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, CareMore and Gesundes Kinzigtal.
The outputs from this work led to the development of a strategy blueprint detailing models for access to investment and potential partners.
- Formulation of an agreed vision and values for the Trust.
- Identification of the major areas where the Trust should seek to develop in order to achieve its overall vision.
- Creation of an approach to developing a clinical strategy focused on value propositions for the various cohorts of patients the Trust served.
- Creation of a strategy blueprint detailing the operational and financial challenges pertinent to North West London, outlining the benefits of integrating care and demonstrating the pathways required to develop Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS FT into an ACO.
