Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network Development of an Innovation and Investment System (Mobilisation Phase)
GEHCF was asked to help Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network (GM AHSN) to develop a new mechanism to drive co-development and co-investment in regionally based technology innovations and to commercialise them with key industry partners and investors. Development of early stage technology developments of benefit to the NHS has previously been small, fragmented and immature.
There has been a poor track record of success in working with industry partners to successfully develop and deploy new technologies and Intellectual Property (IP). As result, GM AHSN has been charged by NHS England with taking a national leadership position in securing corporate and venture capital funding to drive commercialisation of health related IP in the North West.
